Peekaboo is an amazing game to play with babies which continues to roll down the generations creating as much fun and laughter today as it ever did for both baby and adult alike.
Babies learn through this game that even when you cannot see something it still continues to exist until you see it again, this helps a baby to begin to understand the world they live in.
When a baby grasps sheer material to raise and lower whilst playing the game they are developing hand eye coordination and fine motor skills as well as getting a little exercise.
Peekaboo is a lovely social interaction that assists babies with their understanding of language as we extend saying peekaboo to begin saying things like, ‘where are you?’, ‘where’s daddy?’, or, ‘look who’s there’.
As each baby progresses it’s great to extend the game by hiding toys for them to discover as they draw back material.
Mostly though it’s a great game to play just to see the joy and hear the laughter of a baby.
