We have been making our own Playdough in preschool!

We have been experimenting with water or conditioner and different types of flour. The children had a great time thinking critically, adding water or flour to get just the right consistency. It took us a while but we got there in the end and managed to make the perfect dough.

We had great fun and learnt lots of skills including maths and mathematical language i.e more or less, fine motor skills (our hands were aching with all the stirring we did), we worked together and problem solved together, we shared the resources between ourselves and the conversation was great.

We learnt lots of new vocabulary and we kept on trying until we got it just how we wanted, so it didn’t stick to everything and didn’t fall apart. We are looking forward to lots of fun times ahead as we experiment further and create lots of new and exciting textures.
