On Children’s Place March Training Day, Dewsbury’s staff concentrated on their outdoor areas. In the morning training session everyone shared ideas they had for their own areas of expertise in the garden. They had looked at how they could incorporate all areas of learning into a design for the garden. They then sourced the items they needed and carried out a risk assessment on how to create their design.
The afternoon session was then a practical session where they created lots of new areas such as reading areas, assault courses and amazing spaces that focussed on art and design in the garden.
The staff were really pleased with their efforts and Monday morning saw the children able to begin to explore and enjoy the new areas in the garden proving their work was a real success.
